Upcoming Events and Notes

1. The date for the Table Tennis Tournament has been set!  Central Alliance Church will host this event this coming Saturday, February 04, 2012.  Warm-ups begin at 10:00 a.m., and the Tournament commences at 11:00 a.m.  The tables will be set-up in the Auditorium.  Please note that the flyers will be available this afternoon.    
2. Praise the LORD…the Great Lakes District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance has approved Andrea Vincent’s application to become our full-time Youth Director.  She begins her duties here at Central on Wednesday, February 1!  
3. We continue our Family Night gathering this week Wednesday, January 25, 2012.  The night begins with a meal at 6:00 p.m.  We encourage all of our young people to bring their homework and school books with them.  Tutoring begins at 6:45 p.m.  Also, Youth Group begins at 6:45 p.m.  Bible Study for the adults begins at 7:00 p.m.  
4. The Adult Bible Study Group on Wednesday evenings has just begun a new “LifeGuide Bible Study” covering the NT Books of1 & 2 Peter and Jude.  Everyone is welcome to join.  We meet after the Wednesday night meal at 7:00 p.m.
5. Did you know that the Adult Sunday School Class has just started a new video study series entitled “Boundaries”?  It is a great study so if you don’t usually come to Sunday School, try this one out!  Class begins at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday morning.
6. Our routine for Sunday evening group prayer is to gather on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.  We will meet for group prayer again on Sunday, February 12, 2012, tonight beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Heritage Room.
7. Attention musicians and vocalists:  Our next Jam Session will be held next Sunday, February 05, 2012, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Reminder, sessions are scheduled for the first and third Sundays for each month of 2012.
8. The new edition of a-life magazine, the C&MA’s mission’s publication, has arrived and is available on the back table of the       Fellowship Hall.  This month the theme is Youth Ministry.  Check out this award winning publication, and please return the copies when you are done reading them so that others may enjoy them.  Thanks!
9. Please continue to pray for our Youth Bible Quizzers.  They have begun the second half of their Quizzing Session.  Their next tournament will be at Bedford Alliance Church in Temperance, Michigan, on Saturday, January 14, 2012.
10. Pastor David Chang has returned to China for a month to teach in the young Chinese Church.  Please pray for him this month as he travels.  Pray for his physical strength and for his voice.  
11. Ski Trip and Retreat!!!  Any one of our teens who would like to attend the Annual District Ski Trip to Northern Michigan on February 18th to the 20th also please see Ms. Andrea today.
